Xander van Hal - Chairman

Hi There!

My name is Xander and this year I’m chairman of the BuCom. When I went to last year’s BuCom, I thought it would be amazing to organise such a trip myself.

It is a combination of seeing nice cities, visiting companies and enjoying the nightlife. However it is not the easiest task to organise such a comprehensive trip, we already had a lot of fun together with the committee and I think this will even be more fun when the trip takes place! Therefore, I hope you will be joining us on the BuCom!

Niek Klien Hofmeijer - Treasurer

Hi everyone,

My name is Niek Klein Hofmeijer, I am the treasurer of this BuCom. I make sure that everything is paid and that it is not too expensive. Last year I really enjoyed going on the BuCom myself and I hope you will experience it the same and maybe you will be organising it next year. I am looking forward to having a wonderful time in Spain this time around and hope to see you all there.

Cédric de Jonge - Planner

Hello there,

I’m Cédric and I am in charge of planning for the Bucom (‘vo). I am going to make sure that we are going to be at the right place at the right time. Any questions about what’s coming next, come to me and hopefully I’ll be able to answer them.

I’m really excited about going to Spain this year. It is quite an ambitious Bucom (‘vo) and I am very proud that we are making it happen. I love traveling and I already can’t wait to be sitting on the beaches of Barcelona and Valencia while drinking a cold cerveza (that’s Spanish for Grolsch) or a sweet sangria and feeling the sun on my face. Perhaps you would want to join me for a drink?

Benjamin Meijerink - Secretary

Hey everybody,

My name is Benjamin and I’m the secretary of the BuCom this year. I am the guy who makes sure everybody does what they are supposed to be doing so everything gets done on time. I like to travel but I had never organized a big trip like this myself. I am really looking forward to organizing this trip to Spain and even more going, since it will be a lot of fun visiting companies and drinking(in small amounts of course). So make sure you will join this BuCom and I will see you in Spain during this amazing experience.

Wouter Doedens - Extern

Dear members of Astatine,

My name is Wouter Doedens and I am the extern of this years Bucom. This means that I am in charge of getting sponsoring from searchgroups and companies to make the foreign trip payable for you as a student. So my main job is contacting possible sponsors and explaining to them how they can benefit from sponsoring our trip. It is a really fun job where you meet a lot of people and researchers at the University. I hope I will do a good job this year so we will have enough money to make this a great trip. But of course to make this a great experience we money is not the only thing we need. We need you and your enthusiastic energy.

So come join us and hopefully I will see you on the bus/plane.

Rithvik Bangari - Designer

Hey guys,

I am Rithvik and I was the designer for the Bucom committee this year. I was mostly responsible for the designing of the logo, the clothing for the trip as well as making this website. Like some other members in this committee I also went to the Bucom as a first year and it was one of the best experiences of my university life so far. While not trying to make this too cheesy I joined this committee because I wanted to be a part of planning to make sure the bucom is as lit as it was last year.

I have only been to Spain once but only Mallorca so I will be joining many of you in going to this beautiful country for the first time. I am sure this is going to be one of the best Bucom trips yet and I hope to see you joining us.
